I am a firm believer in outsourcing anything you are not an expert in. With SEO and onlien marketing, the industry is simply changing so fast that keeping up with it is a full time job.

I like to compare it to home construction. If your home builder knocked on your door and suddenly said "I have to tear your house down. I know it is only twelve months old, but it isn't up to code and you are in violation. The ceiling is three inches too high, the fire alarms need to be upgrading to detect emotional stress, and the paint on the outside is affecting your carbon neutral footprint" 99% of us would check the paperwork and say "okay". We may gripe about it and be disgruntled, but at the end of the day we leave such changes to an expert who will make sure our home is looking pretty when they are done.

As business owners, we all live in our websites at least a little bit. Taking a half-educated attempt at doing your own online marketing efforts can often be like a home owner suddenly getting out a hammer, saw, and box of nails and thinking they are qualified to add on a room.
